Girls Camp 2010!!!! :) B.O.O.T. Camp

Oh my Goodness!!! i had the best time of my life at girl's camp! This year we went to St. Charles campgroud. It is about 7 miles from Bear Lake. We left Tuesday, July 13th. We met at the church by my house at 8 in the morning. Me and my friend Kim had the devotional that morning. We explained our camp theme. It was B.O.O.T. Camp. It stands for Building Our Own Testimonies. We talked about what things make up a testimony, including; knowing that the church is true, that this is the restored gospel, that Jesus Christ is our Savior and died for our sins, that we have a living prophet today, and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet. After the devotional we went off driving. I rode in Sister LeDuc's car; there was me, Sister North, Sister Archibald, Sister LeDuc, Rachel Wiemer, and Merissa Goudy. It was a really fun ride which went by really fast. Which was weird considering we were going to Idaho. We were quoting Brian Regan like the whole way! :) haha. When we got up there of course it means... Time to Set Up. Which this is never the best part of a camping trip, but we all do it with a smile on our face. We arranged for the laurel's to all sleep together. We 6 fit in a 8 man tent and then used another 4 man to put all our stuff it. Which made it really nice considering that we had 6 people dressing. it was like a walk-in closet ;) In the Laurel Tent there was me, Kim Owens, Olivia Mendez, Katie King, Jessi Hawks, and Rachel Wiemer. It was so fun! Some people would go to sleep every night and others would stay up and talk :). Anyway after we set up camp we were split into "families". I was in the purple family (which totally made me happy because i totally love purple) in my family was Merissa Goudy, Karissa King, Samantha Gutierrez, Aerin Mendez, Amy Kersten, Kelly Baldwin, and Kristen North. After we were split up we played some team building games. They were so cool. One of them we all sat on the ground and held a bucket of water up with our feet, and then we all had to take our shoes and socks off without spilling the water. Then we did three legged races, tug-a-war, etc. Then we had some fun around the camp fire, sang songs etc. Sista Page taught us a pretty sweet song! It is called the Hershey Bar Song, and this is how it goes! She sat in the corner and ate hershey bars, ate hershey bars, ate hershey bars, she sat in the corner and ate hershey bars, ate hershey ba a a ars. He sat down beside her and smoked his cigars, smoked his cigars, smoked his cigars. He sat down beside her and smoked his cigars, smoked his ciga a a ars. He told her he loved her but he really lied, he really lied, he really lied, he told her her loved her but he really lied, he really li i i ied. She found out he lied and she up up and died, up up and died, up up and died, She found out he lied and she up up and died, up up and di i i ied. He went to her funeral but just for the ride, just for the ride, just for the ride, he went to her funeral but just for the ride, just for the ri i i ide. He sat on her coffin and laughed til he cried, laughed til he cried. Laughed til he cried. He sat on her coffin and laughed til he cried, laughed til he cri i i ied. The coffin tiped over and squish squash he died, squish squash, he died, squish squash, he died, the coffin tipped over and squish squash he died, squish squash he di i i ied. she went up to heaven and flittered and flied, flittered and flied, flittered and flied. She went up to heaven and flittered and flied, flittered and fli i i ied. He went down to *cough cough* and sizzled and fried. Sizzled and fried. Sizzled and fried. He went down to *cough cough* and sizzled and fried, sizzled and fri i i ied. The moral of the story is eat hershey bars, eat hershey bars, eat hershey bars, the moral of the story is eat hershey bars. Don't Smoke Cigar a a ars.! :) hahahah it's totally my favorite now and when i'm a mother ( in the far future) i am going to teach it to them! Anyway, so then after that we ate hershey bars, and me Sista page, and kimbaroo were being really silly! :) we were talking all funny and then we hiked up our pants like we were urkle :) HEHEHE The theme this day was SoS. Source of Strength

Okay, So wednesday we got up and went up to the Minnetonka caves. It was the first time i was going when i could.. well.. remember it! ;) Our tour guides name was Brother yes :) hahahah that's what he said... but he told us his real name.. and i can't remember it (brother yes is so original) haha. So we were hiking a long and then at the end he turned the lights off. Which i soon learned that it is very dark :) i couldn't see sister baldwin's hands in front of my face... even though it touched my nose! hahaha. Then Brother Williams talked to us a little bit about the iron rod. After that brother yes told us all to line up and hold on to the railing. And after we did this, he again turned the lights off and told us to make our way back up to the door. Really? i can't see a hand in front of my face and now i need to go up 400 stairs??? really?! haha but i went anyway. it was a LIFE CHANGIN experience. Even though i could hear sister baldwin's voice, and i could feel her shoulder, no matter how hard i tried i couldn't see her! Just like my heavenly father. i can hear him, and feel him, but i can't see him! Then we had some free time and that night was Skit night :) Mine Families skit was the bomb.com! :) we redid how sista page met her husband :) HEHEHEHE it was really fun! the theme was Bugs. Building. Up. Gospel. Standards.

Thursday we went up to bloomington lake! it was so much fun! There was the most amazing rope swing there that was so fun! i wish i woulda gone more than once! :) Then we went on a hike and we had to carry around this egg. Which symbolized our testimony and how it's fragile and we have to protect it. :) then we went and got Shakes from bear lake! it was the bomb digity! :) I know that my paragraphs are getting smaller... but i'm kinda getting bored of this. haha it'll be more detailed in my journal, i promise! :) hahaha Anyway! then for our night activity we watched the Princess and the Frog. Because our theme that day was frogs. Fully. Rely On. God :)

So Friday. pretty much we went to bear lake. That was our day. It was fun. But i would have to say that the best part, bar none woulda had to been when me and kimbaroo dumped a cooler full of ice water on Brother Jennings head :) AHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHHAAHAHA :) it was the best! Then we had a sand castle competition in which the purple family won! :) (as we always did!) hahah Then that night we had a guest speaker. His name was Brother Hyde and he was Sista Page's seminary teacher! he did an amazing job! i coulda listened to him for hours! :) But he talked about the three most important things about life. 1. Righteousness is Happiness. And if we are happy we keep the commandments. Then he said that number 2 Be Grateful :) 3. Service! :) he did so good! Then it was testimony meeting. the last testimony meeting of my youthhood! I cried pretty bad! But i am so glad that i had the opportunity to go. Then we went snipe hunting. and just so you know toothpaste is required to attract snipes :)

This year at girls camp was the best year of my life :) i will never forget it! :) enjoy !:) <3's
